Privacy
This site collects nothing about you. There is no form, no account, no sign-up and no analytics. Reading it tells us nothing.
What this page does not do
- It sets no cookies. Not on this page and not on the home page.
- It runs no scripts. The page’s own security policy is
default-src 'none', which forbids scripts outright — so there is no analytics, no tag manager and no tracking pixel, and none could be added without changing that policy. - It asks nothing of anyone else. The typefaces are served from this site rather than a font network, so loading the page does not tell a third party that you visited.
What the web server records
Like every web server, the machine serving this page keeps standard access logs: the IP address that made the request, the time, the page or file requested, and the browser’s user-agent string. Those logs are created by the hosting provider, Infomaniak, in Switzerland, and exist to operate and secure the server. They are not used for analytics and are not combined with anything else. Infomaniak’s handling of them is governed by its own data-confidentiality policy, linked above.
If you write to us
The address on this site is an ordinary mailbox. If you send a message, we hold what you chose to send — your address and whatever you wrote — for as long as it takes to deal with it and to keep a sensible record of the correspondence. It is not added to a mailing list, and there is no mailing list to add it to.
Where the links go
A few links leave this site — the book at Leanpub, a profile on LinkedIn, and on this page the hosting provider and the Information Commissioner. Once you follow one you are on their site, under their terms and their privacy notices, not this one. Nothing is loaded from any of them, so merely reading these pages tells them nothing; they learn of you only if you click.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to its processing, or complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. In practice the only personal data connected with this site is what sits in the server logs described above, and anything you have sent by email.
