Privacy

This site collects nothing about you. There is no form, no account, no sign-up and no analytics. The Companion Field Guide downloads directly.

What this page does not do

What the web server records

Like every web server, the machine serving this page keeps standard access logs: the IP address that made the request, the time, the page or file requested, and the browser's user-agent string. Those logs are created by the hosting provider, Infomaniak, in Switzerland, and exist to operate and secure the server. They are not used for analytics and are not combined with anything else. Infomaniak's handling of them is governed by its own data-confidentiality policy, linked above.

The guide itself

The Companion Field Guide is served as an ordinary file. Downloading it leaves a line in the server logs described above and nothing more. The file contains no tracking of any kind, and reading it tells this site nothing.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to its processing, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. In practice the only personal data connected with this site is what sits in the server logs described above.

Who is responsible

This site is run by Duncan McTavish, who is the data controller for it. Questions about this notice, or about anything above, go to hello@thesecondopinion.uk.

Changes to this notice

If this site ever starts collecting anything — an email address for the guide, for instance — this page will say so before it does, not after.
